Welcome to the Tidings Newsletter.
Who the hell are you?
I’m Amy Fogarty. I write for a living, impose disability advocacy on all around me, hunt mercilessly for vintage gems, and mother one rescue dog.
My debut novel is currently being hashed out in coffee shops, while my savings take a hit from the grande chai habit. When not writing or reading, I can be found posing obscure hypothetical scenarios to my long suffering partner, the outcomes of which may inform some of my content.
Tell me more.
I trained as a lawyer, and worked in the industry for approximately five minutes before realising just how incompatible it is with chronic illness.
Writing has always been my method of maintaining sanity, but only in recent years has it occurred to me that someone might pay me for it. So I’ll just be over here, honing my craft. I hope it’ll make you think, even if your only thought is what on earth is this woman banging on about?
Tidings
Think of it more as narrative tidings. Messages of life, how it feels to be a woman today, all the challenges that comes with, the society that imposes such challenges, and the stories that form and fascinate us.
What else?
You can find me occasionally posting on Twitter or oversharing on Instagram.
